Description
Painting of seated woman framed and underglass after Yvonne Canu (French, 1921-2008) in a gold gilt frame. Painting examined only under a loop which is watercolor and oil mixed. Not examined out of the paper backed frame. Signed CANU in lower left as shown. Measuring approx 27" h x 19.5" w including the frame. Yvonne Canu, born in 1921 in Meknes, Morocco, was a French painter renowned for her pointillist technique. She studied at the Ecole des Arts Decoratives in Paris. Influenced by Georges Seurat and inspired by the neo-impressionist movement, her works include vibrant landscapes and coastal scenes.
