When remodeling during the 1970’s some of the seats were made available to the public. The plaques you see were attached to get them ready for sale. These original seats happen to be numbered 1 and 2. Those also happen to be the retired numbers of Yankee icons Billy Martin and Derek Jeter. These appear to be untouched and unrestored since obtained in the 1970’s. Think of all of the moments, players and victories these seats saw over 50 years of Yankee baseball!
