Description
Rare set of five matching Art Nouveau, Lustre Art Glass Company, New York, Circa 1920-1923 iridescent feathered snakeskin tulip shades. Each shades features a vibrant, highly reflective golden-amber body, intricately pulled "fish-scale" or "snakeskin" method and undulating wave design. The interior of the shades boasts an opaque pearlescent gold casing, designed to catch and warmly diffuse ambient light. The gold iridescence showcases brilliant flashes of pink, magenta, and chartreuse when exposed to light. Each piece is hand engraved Lustre Art along inner edge of the top fitter rim. Measuring approx. 5 1/8" tall by 4 7/8" opening with 2 1/8" fitter. In good age appropriate condition with a few minor chips to fitters, all body having no damage or repairs, see photos.
