Art Deco Mythological Plaster Merman Dimensional Silhouette Wall Plaques 32" (2)
Description
A matching pair of vintage mythological marine scene architectural-style wall reliefs executed in cast chalkware (plaster) and finished in a clean matte white finish. Each dimensional figure is permanently mounted to a custom cut wood panel silhouette backing, designed in the Art Deco or Streamline Modern taste. Panel A depicts a left-facing merman emerging from stylized, cresting geometric waves while clutching a fresh catch against his chest. Panel B depicts a right facing counterpart blowing into a large conch shell horn, accompanied by a leaping serpent-dolphin riding the surf. The reverse sides feature raw wood grain panel construction, structurally fitted with an integrated wire hanger for flush wall mounting and protective bumpers. Measuring approx. 32" tall by 26" wide. In good age appropriate condition with some hairline cracks to finish expected with age, see photos.
