Lot 240:
Circa 1820-40s American Country Federal One Drawer Stand
Description
An American country-primitive Federal period stained pine and hardwood one drawer side table, dating to the early to mid 19th century. The square overhanging top is constructed from beautifully aged wide plank, exhibiting a rich amber patina, localized historic surface wear, and old faint markings consistent with long-term domestic use. Single hand dovetailed drawer spans the width of the apron and fitted with a central white porcelain mushroom form pull knob. The table is elevated on four slender , square tapered legs that terminate cleanly at the base, evoking classic Shaker and regional country Federal proportions. Measuring approx. 26.75" tall by 18.5" wide by 19" deep. In good age appropriate condition, see photos.
