American School Floral Still Life with Violets Oil on Board
Description
Late 19th early 20th century floral still life depicting a dense, vibrant bouquet of purple violets mixed with soft green foliage. Flowers arranged meticulously inside a clear spherical glass globe vase, which rests upon a warm polished wood tabletop. The background is executed in rich, blend of autumnal tones of ochre and dark olive, creating an atmospheric depth that pushes the vivid hues forward. Housed in a giltwood gesso frame with scroll-work borders. Measuring approx. 19.75" tall by 23.75" wide. In good age appropriate condition with areas of losses to frame, see photos.
