Lot 348:
Three (3) Powder Flasks/Horns
Description
Three different powder flasks made of different materials. The smallest flast appears to be made of brass and has some leaves or flowers for ornamentation. The smallest measures 4.5 x 2 inches at its widest points and the spring door still functions. The next size up is a leather worked flask that measures 8.5 x 3.5 inches. The leather is not very flexible and the seams are beginning to come apart. Some light cracking and dirt on the leather does not take away from the embossed images of a hare with some birds. The leather is also stamped "3 lbs" with no other noticed makers markings. The spring door still functions on the spout. The final largest flask is a copper piece that measures 9 x 4 inches. Door still function, and along the top there are markings that say "Batty" "1854" and what appears to be "A.D.K" and "R.H.K’. Piece is in very good condition with some small dents but otherwise well retained shape. The door portion still appears to function to close the flask. Some small holes towards the bottom half of the piece. See Photos.
