Description
This stunning, originally hand-colored engraving is from Mark Catesby. The engraving is from the first German edition published in Nuremberg in 1750 by Joannis Joseph Fleischmann. The work illustrated the second volume of Catesby’s Natural History of the Carolinas, Florida and the Islands of the Bahamas including illustration of fishes, reptiles, insects and some other animals and plants of the New World.
