Handel Art Nouveau "Pond Lily" Slag Glass Lamp
Description
20th century Art Nouveau Handel "Pond Lily" desk or table lamp. The piece features a beautifully sculpted patinated cast-metal base configured as an organic lily pad floating on water. A slender gooseneck stem rises from base and branches out into a delicate secondary stem bearing a closed glass lily bud accent. The primary stem terminates in an lotus blossom-form shade fashioned from green and white marbled slag glass panels, bound together by a scalloped metal frame. Base of the lamp is marked Handel, no signature found on shade. Measuring approx. 17.5" tall by 16.5" long. In good age appropriate condition with damage to one green panel on large shade and small crack to underside panel of lily bud, see photos.
