Lot 164:
Nassau Coliseum Grateful Dead 1973 Rock Concert Poster
Description
This 1973 "A Swell Dance Concert" 2nd edition poster was designed by legendary graphic artist David Byrd to promote the Grateful Dead’s two night run at Nassau Coliseum. Cataloged as part of the historic Bill Graham series (BG-288), the artwork departs from traditional psychedelic lettering, instead utilizing a striking, stylized 1950’s era cartoon motif of jitterbugging dancers set against a vibrant horizontal band background. Measuring approx. 29.75" tall by 21.75" wide. In good condition with a little scuff to bottom right corner, likely touch-up with a black marker, see photos.
