Description
Circa 1960 hand molded terracotta mask features a stylized human face with geometric features and organic, biomorphic ridges along the brow. Inscribed "M. Moore Mex 1960" on the inner rim, the piece reflects the mid-century modern aesthetic emerging from expatriate art workshops in Mexico during the era. Measuring approx. 10.25" tall by 7.25" wide by 7" deep. The unglazed bisque earthenware remains in very good vintage condition, exhibiting raw tool markings on the interior and a minor isolated surface chip on right cheek, see photos.
