Lipot Illencz (Hungarian, 1882-1950) "Summer Afternoon by the Lake" Oil on Canvas
Description
Rendered in a vibrant, late-impressionist style, this charming oil on canvas painting captures a serene, sun-drenched summer afternoon. The composition features a young woman with radiant red hair clad in an elegant, bow-accented pink dress. She rests gracefully on a grassy hill overlooking a calm body of water, where a distant red canoe floats in the background. In the foreground, her discarded straw sunhat sits along side a freshly picked bouquet of wildflowers, adding a narrative layer of leisure and romance to the scene. Housed in a gold frame with areas of flaking, see photos.ÊMeasuring approx. 22.5" tall by 25.25" wide. In good age appropriate condition, see photos.
