If there is one special, one IMPORTANT, one bold statement piece within this auction it is this one! The Personal Desk of Robert William Andrew Feller!! DO NOT LET THIS DESK PASS YOU BY. Whether a business person, American baseball enthusiast, Bob Feller fan or just having from the respect from a man who left MLB to defend his country!! Made by Commercial Furniture Company and Measuring approx 30.5" tall x 54" deep x 66" wide. This desk is larger than life, fitting for Bob! That also means that it is very large and heavy to ship. This desk has had many great business dealing, important persons seated on the other side, conversation had and bills paid. Letter typed and written to loved ones, important persons and just good ole friends that Bob had made throughout his Honorable life. It is said that Joe DiMaggio sat many times at this desk. Bob was named ‘The Greatest Pitcher’ of his time for the Cleveland Indians and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1962. He played 18 seasons for the Indians, was an 8 time ‘All Star’ and ranked 36 out of 100 in the list of 100 of the Greatest Baseball Players in the ‘Sporting News’. At the age of 23 he was the first American professional athlete to enlist in the military the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Many of these items have been reconsigned to us from a few year back when Premier Auction Galleries liquidated the Feller’s Estate here in Gates Mills Ohio after the unfortunate passing of Ann Feller.
